Toasting and Steaming

We toast and steam our foeders to our customers needs. While the most common is a light toast, that may not be what suits your goals. The benefit of a light toast is in the flexibility, subtly rounding-out the white oak and providing a light sweetness and vanilla. A medium and heavy toast will provide more spice and robust flavors. Our chart will highlight some of the characteristics that can be expected.

Steaming removes more of the tannins and while leaving the other desirable flavors.
